BMW has announced that it will launch a performance version of the iX electric crossover. The car will be named M60 and will be unveiled at CES 2022 (Consumer Electronics Show).

At the annual CES (Consumer Electronics Show) event, BMW will unveil a performance version of the iX, called the M60. This car will be the first series of electric crossovers developed by the BMW M performance division.

The electric car will develop over 600 hp and be the most powerful iX range from the first information provided. The most powerful version of the electric crossover produces 516 hp. There's no data on top speed and battery capacity, but it looks like the new BMW iX M60 will be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in approximately 4 seconds. The body of the iX M60 will have a more aggressive design, with some design elements borrowed from the electric performance model i4 M50.

In addition to unveiling the new iX M60, BMW has announced that it will present several new technologies at the same event. Specifically, the German manufacturer will introduce a technology that will allow the driver to change the color of his car at the touch of a button. Furthermore, the Bavarian brand will also present a multimedia system that will give a cinema feeling.

It is not known exactly what technology it is, but it seems that the curved screen found on several BMW cars will be transformed into a very large screen. Future BMW iX electric cars may have a 14.9-inch center screen for the multimedia system and a 12.3-inch screen for onboard instruments.

CES will be held on January 5-8, 2022, in Las Vegas. In addition to the presentation of the new BMW iX M60 and new technologies, the public will also witness the unveiling of the Chevrolet Silverado electric van, a car destined for the American market. @via BMW.
