The Volkswagen Taigo is now available for order. Volkswagen offers the most up-to-date safety and driver assistance systems, connectivity and infotainment, versatility, and desirability, all wrapped up in a stylish SUV-coupe body and powered by a range of efficient and versatile petrol engines. The Volkswagen Taigo in Life trim begins at 25,600 euros and comes with a 1.0-liter, 95 hp TSI engine and a 5-speed manual transmission.

The Volkswagen Taigo, which is 150 mm longer than Volkswagen's entry-level SUV, the tiny T-Cross, and shorter and lower than the elegant Volkswagen T-Roc, complements the brand's SUV lineup, which includes the Tiguan, ID.4, Tiguan Allspace, and Touareg. The newcomer has an SUV-like sitting posture, ground clearance, luxury, and aesthetics. Personalization is supplied via a diverse and colorful palette of paint colors, with further customization options accessible across different interior parts. In addition, consumer demand for high levels of technology and connection is answered with wireless App-Connect and wireless smartphone charging and streaming and internet services, all offered from the Life trim level and higher.

The Volkswagen Taigo comes standard with LED headlights, an 8.0-inch Digital Cockpit, an adaptable steering wheel, wireless charging, Park Assist, a fatigue detection system, and curtain airbags in the front, with a central airbag adding to the charismatic new SUV's numerous safety features across all trim levels. Travel Assist and the brand's unique IQ are also incorporated. In addition, the Volkswagen Taigo Style comes equipped with bright LED matrix headlights.

The entry-level Taigo Life is very well-equipped, with a package of driver aid features that provide safety and comfort. Lane Change Assistant, Adaptive Cruise Control, front and rear parking sensors, and other available features. The Volkswagen Taigo Life's exterior features include 16-inch 'Everett' Black alloy wheels, front fog lights, LED headlights, and black-finished roof rails. Logo projection lights from the door mirrors; a multifunction camera; lumbar support for the comfy front seats; electrically folding door mirrors with electric heating and adjustment; and a multifunction steering wheel are among the comfort and convenience features.

The Volkswagen Taigo R-standard Line's kit expands on the Life, providing a sportier option with 17-inch 'Valencia' alloy wheels and an R-Line exterior appearance with customized bumpers. The Volkswagen Taigo R-Line styling cues are present on the inside, with a black roof-lining, R-Line badging on the floor mats, and an R-Line unique multifunction steering wheel, as well as luxuries such as ambient lighting, 2-zone Climatronic climate, a 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Pro dashboard display, and an 8.0-inch Discover Navigation infotainment system. The driver can also switch between profiles to tailor the car's driving characteristics to fit sportier or more relaxing driving tendencies. Rear privacy glass enhances the dynamic appearance of the Taigo and is standard on the Taigo Style.

The VW Taigo Style, which focuses on elegance and comfort, expands on the model's extensive equipment package by including IQ.Light LED matrix headlights as standard. These separately controlled modules can alter modes to suit a range of driving scenarios. The IQ.Light series debuted on the Touareg in 2018 but has since been adopted throughout most of Volkswagen's model lineup. These bright headlamps are complemented by a full-width LED bar in the front grille of the Taigo. The Taigo Style has 17-inch 'Aberdeen' alloy wheels as standard and Dynamic Light Assist for the IQ.Light headlamps.

The Volkswagen Taigo lineup has four engine and transmission combinations, dependent on the specification. For example, Volkswagen's entry-level Taigo Life comes with a 1.0-liter, three-cylinder, 95 hp TSI petrol engine with a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 110 hp engine with a 6-speed manual gearbox1 or a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission.

This 110 hp unit is available in all three Taigo standards, with the manual version of the 110 PS arriving on November 11th in all Taigo specifications. In addition, in the Taigo Style and R-Line, a second DSG-equipped option – a 1.5-liter, 150-hp four-cylinder TSI engine – is offered. These three engines produce 175 Nm, 200 Nm, and 250 Nm of torque, respectively, while the 110 PS, 6-speed manual-equipped Taigo has the best fuel efficiency (52.3 mpg) and lowest CO2 emissions (124 g/km) (WLTP, combined).

"The Taigo is distinctive, being the first SUV-coupé in the Volkswagen range, and it delivers a varied variety of traits recognized from the brand's hatchbacks and other SUVs," said Claire Haynes, Taigo Product Manager at Volkswagen UK. "The Volkswagen Taigo truly offers the best of both worlds. Its technology, style, practicality, and quality place it squarely within the Volkswagen SUV family. Still, its unique status as the brand's first SUV-coupé and its emphasis on connection, flair, and personalization give it a distinct personality within the range."
