Many consumers are delaying purchasing an electric vehicle due to concerns about range. As a result, producers of electric vehicles usually rely on massive, powerful batteries to convey a substantial amount of energy and extend range. However, the amount of energy consumed per 100 kilometers by electric cars is similarly considerable. Because autos may drive longer the more effectively they move on the road. However, because electric vehicles are generally assumed to produce zero grams of CO2, there are minimal incentives to develop a highly efficient electric vehicle.

Already, major disparities exist amongst the models. The quantity of energy spent by an electric vehicle is affected by elements other than its size, weight, and horsepower, according to an ADAC assessment.
